FIRM’s summer carnival held on Thursday, July 18 was our largest event ever! An estimated crowd of over 1000 participants enjoyed food, carnival games, face painting, rockwall climbing, slides and bounce houses, along with clowns providing balloon animals.
Over 500 backpacks with school supplies were distributed, and back to school haircuts were provided again by Yuniel’s City Barber Shop.
About 450 New Testament Bibles in graphic novel form, Action Bible, were distributed thanks to support from Northwest Church, Fresno.
“Each year, this event continues to be a high quality event that provides backpacks and school supplies for 500 children in need. We try to add something new every time we host this event so that the families can look forward to new surprises! This year, we added the rock wall, cotton candy, more carnival games and two amazing clowns who provided balloon animals for hundreds of children! We look forward to another exciting event next year! ,” said FIRM Executive Director Zack Darrah.
Over 50 volunteers, including 20 from two visiting mission teams, worked together with more than 30 staff members in planning and running the Carnival.
