FIRM’s annual school readiness event, distributing backpacks and school supplies while having summer fun together will be held on Friday, July 13. The event will start at 6 PM on the FIRM campus, and include a vendor fair, food, arts and crafts, free haircuts and more! After sundown, a free family movie – The Incredibles – will be shown.
This year’s event has some amazing sponsors who are stepping up to support the event and help broaden FIRM’s community outreach. Foster Farms has donated the hotdogs, corndogs and chicken that will be served. Other sponsors include Sun Fat, Yuniel’s Barbarshop, United Japanese Christian Church, Rita’s Italian Ice and city councilman Clint Olivier.
A great team of volunteers has been gathered – thank you to all who have volunteered! Our current need around this event is for donors to help offset the cost of the backpacks and school supplies.
