Executive Director, Zachary Darrah and Advocacy Specialist, Franklin Yang will be attending the Hmong National Development (HND) 2015 National Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota. The St. Paul/Minneapolis area is home to the largest population of Hmong people in the United States. HND is a trusted partner of FIRM and has opened an office in Fresno in 2014.
This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Legacy, Onward Toward Prosperity” as this year marks the fortieth year that Hmong people have been in the United States. The conference will focus on 3 key areas; honoring the last 40 years of Hmong people in America, sharing about issues and concerns in the Hmong community and discussing action plans on how to ensure the prosperity of the Hmong population for the next 40 years in the United States.
Zachary will be participating in special sessions throughout the conference in their “Leadership Symposium” to discuss strategies to best meet the needs of the Hmong population in Fresno and to learn about best practices from throughout the country. Zachary and Franklin will be at the conference from April 16-19.
