On May 21, 2014, three students from Fresno County were recognized by the mental health Fresno County Board of Supervisors for winning an all Fresno County storytelling contest for students that were in 7th through 12th grade. The contest was sponsored by CalMHSA, Each Mind Matters. Students were to write a story relating to mental health stigma that surrounds the Hmong culture and ways for the stigma to end. This was a project that was targeted for Hmong students so that they had a chance to express what their views, thoughts, understanding and stigma were that surrounds the culture and how it pertains to mental health. There were 3 winners from the story telling contest and 2 of the students are from FIRM staff!
