Post-COVID-19 Update
FIRM’s offices have adapted our services over the past several years. Our Community Health Workers are out sharing resources and information in 12 languages every day. Please call us to request an appointment for housing or application assistance, as all staff continue to work hybrid schedules. We offer childhood vaccinations and PCR tests every Wednesday from 1pm to 4pm in partnership with UCSF Fresno Mobile Heal at the Rev. Dr. Sharon Stanley-Rea Center on campus.
Since 1994, Fresno Interdenominational Refugee Ministries (FIRM) has been meeting the needs of refugee community members in Fresno. We serve the Hmong, Laotian, Slavic, African and Syrian communities, which represent over 60,000 people in Fresno County.
We do this in many different ways, through Literacy, Welcoming, Community Building and Community Health program areas. We provide wrap-around services to all ages from young children to elders and are always pursuing new ways to meet the diverse needs of the people groups we serve. Our services span from after-school programs, to advocacy, to community gardens and much, much more! FIRM works directly with over 10,000 people from the refugee communities in the Central Valley each year!
Since 2022, FIRM has been an approved Resettlement Agency through our national affiliate, Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC). We are excited to work with all of you to welcome refugees to Fresno and the great Central Valley.
